I have had this Engine Malfunction Reduced Performance problem for quite some time. The first time I took it to Georgian BMW Stealers and was charged $1400 to fix leaks in vacuum hoses. A few weeks later problem still persists. I take it back. This time they changed a turbine converter to the tune of $1700. The very next day the problem still occurs. Very dangerous as the vehicle cuts power. I decided to take it to a "bmw expert" and he replaced the throttle body to the tune of another $700. The problem is still there!!! At my wits end with this piece of sh*t vehicle that BMW should not be allowed to sell.

Within a couple of days of getting the car back after the replacement of hi-pressure fuel pump and a fuel rail sensor a similar but somewhat different problem developed. After making a right turn and mildly accelerating the same symptom of 1/2 engine malfunction and reduced power the car was jerking and stalling out so badly I had to pull over. After a few minutes I turn the car back on and it ran ok for a few minutes then began to vibrate, like it was misfiring. It stopped the jerking motion and I was able to drive it to the repair shop but the car engine light was not on and so no code was provided when the scanning was done. On the way home while idling for 10 minutes or so in drive thru restaurant the reduce power problem returned and had to pull over. Turned it off again for a few minutes. Restarted the car and was able to limp on home.
After dinner I took the car for a test drive around neighborhood and it seemed to run fine. I stopped and decided to let it idle while in gear just as before at the drive thru restaurant. After 10-15 min the yellow 1/2 malfunction light came on and then the smaller engine light came on and stayed on, even after turned it off for a few minutes and then back on. I took it back to the shop the next day. The car started fine and drove fine. I drove VERY conservatively. The small engine light stayed on and the shop was able to get a series of codes. They found another sensor mounted on the rear of the engine that was inexpensive. It took a few days to get one but they replaced it and the car worked well for oh, about a hour or so while doing some errands.
