Hi, my description is too long, I will email it separately to NHTSA. The consumer stated the vehicle had run flat tires and the vehicle also had a tire pressure monitoring system. While driving down the highway, one of the tires suddenly collapsed and shredded. Because the tires were run flat, the consumer stated he should have been able to drive 50 miles after loosing pressure, yet it gave way completely in an instant. Even after the blowout, the TPMS did not indicated that the tire was low even after the tire was completely off the rim with zero pressure. It was later confirmed that there was a nail in the blown tire proving that it had been loosing air for some time and was driven anyway due to the TPMS not working. Updated 04/04/08
