While driving the car on the NJ Turnpike on May 30, 2026, during high wind, I heard sounds like hard rain on the roof, but it was a sunny day. I saw sheets flying off the roof of the car. When I parked the car, I discovered that almost half of the clear coat that had covered the carbon fiber roof had blown off the car, exposing the carbon fiber. The BMW certified collision shop told me that the roof panel has to be replaced and this may cost as much as the car is worth.
