Had transmission checked out after getting long shift code and noise from transmission ended up 4 th gear was gone because of a stripped shaft only thing to do is rebuilt. When i went to drop off car to aamco for rebuild they had a Pontiac Grand Prix 60,000 miles same tranny same problem. went to pick up car, they had another Buick Century same year same problem same tranny ect.. Was told by aamco that gm is using very bad steel for there parts (gee i wonder where there getting there parts could it be chi@#)I have had 3 Hondas never a problem except one water pump but car had 120000 miles on it. Had to get a bigger car because of my size (6' 240 lbs)and have a bad back other wise i would have stuck with a quality car (A. K. A HONDA) GM is total junk they export car manufacturing to Canada and worst of all Mexico they use cheap parts of poor quality saving them loads of money yet they still up the price of there cars. I use to think of Buick as quality thats why are grandparents allows owned them now they are junk this is why they are always crying about going out of business they cut to many corners so there head guys can get million dolor bonus while we mainly the USA made them rich now they don't give a @#$% about us I hope they do go under there products after 1980 suc !@#

Have the same problem as Jordan:
"Sometimes when I'm driving you here this winding noise and it up shifts hard. Never does it when I down shift. To fix the problem I turn the car off for a minute and turn it back on and Im good. Well at least for a little while. I usually have the problem 2-3 times a day if Im driving around that day. Really annoying any Ideas?"
Would really appreciate a definitive fix to this problem. Is it the pressure control solenoid??
