The contact owns a 2000 Buick Century. The contact was experiencing issues with the window regulators in the vehicle. Three of the windows suddenly fell down while driving at an unknown speed. The dealer replaced the first window and paid for half of the repair cost. The second window was replaced for free. The contact has to pay for the third window to be repaired. All three windows failed within a year. The failure mileage was 29,000 and current mileage was 30,600.

  • 4,000 miles
The contact owns a 2000 Buick Century. None of the rear seat belt buckles function. The rear driver and passenger side seat belt buckle assembly would not release. The middle seat belt buckle assembly has failed. Normally, the contact gets some silicone and fiddles with the vehicle for thirty minutes before she can get the seat belt to loosen up and come out. The contact was not informed if NHTSA campaign id numbers 01V109000 and 00V228003 (seat belts) apply to her VIN. In addition, all four window motors have been replaced, and the front window motors were replaced twice. Currently, the rear passenger window is rolled down and will not roll back up. The current mileage was 81,786 and failure mileage was 4,000.

- the contact owns a 2000 Buick Century custom and complained about the following problems: The lower intake manifold gasket, the thermostat, and water pump. These components had to be replaced because the vehicle was overheating. The rear brake shoes and a leaking cylinder also had to be replaced. The rear drums, and the switch on the driver's side for the power windows where replaced due to possible fire concerns. In addition, the right outer tie rod end on the passenger's side wheel was loose and had to be repaired. Since the vehicle was inherited in 2003 all the aforementioned failures had to be replaced or repaired starting in 2005. The contact spoke with the manufacturer, and they stated they would not reimburse the contact because there was no relationship established with the dealer since the vehicle was purchased. The current mileage was 74,442, and the failure mileage was 64,218. The consumer has provided invoices of services and checked with GM to see if there was a recall on the gasket manifold, however she was informed no recall was issued for that part. Update 05/10/07

Each of the automatic window "motors" has failed (all 4 windows) to the tune of $500 for each repair. Single female driving around a large city w/the window(s) down is a safety issue!!

Automatic windows. Several months ago the driver window quit working on my 2000 Buick Century. I had it replaced at a cost of around $400. Within the last 45 days the two back windows and as of this weekend the front passenger window are not working. They slid down in the track and the buttons don't work. Also within the last 45 days my husband 2001 Malibu had a back window go out. It too slid down and the button doesn't bring it back up. That is a total of five windows not working. At that costs it is cheaper to tape them up than to take out a second mortgage to fix it. Is there a recall on the motor and regulator assembly for these windows?

While driving with the rear windows down, the vehicle vibrates very hard which may cause a loss of vehicle control. Dealer said it due to a defective flaw design of the aerodynamics.
