Passenger airbag will disable randomly while driving for random periods of time ranging from a few seconds to a few hours despite there being a 140+ lb passenger. This will happen every few minutes.

I purchased this vehicle several years ago used and everything was working fine. Several months later, whenever a "passenger" sits in the front passenger seat, the check airbag and seat belt system message appears in the dashboard. After the seat becomes unoccupied, the message remains on...sometimes for a couple of days, sometimes for a week, and sometimes for a month or two. Then it may stop showing the message until a person sits there again. This also happened when the vehicle was not running and the key was in my pocket. I went and applied pressure to the passenger seat and when I started the vehicle with an empty passenger seat, the message appeared again. I took my vehicle to the dealer and they were going to charge me an arm and a leg for the repair and I was thinking this should be a covered repair. What I am saying is the message appears that something is wrong and when someone sits in the seat.

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the failure was due to water corrosion in the air bag system. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 200,000.

The passenger airbag off light come on for no reason while there is a passenger seated. We replace the seatbelt and seat belt sensor. The next code says to replace the seat sensor itself. That's a $1000 repair. And that does not ensure that the airbag will deploy. The seat belt replacement was supposed to fix the issue. Based on the codes. Will the airbag deploy in the event of an accident? we do not know. This occurs both when the vehicle is stationary and/or moving.

The "service air bag" light is on in my 2008 Buick Enclave. I had noticed that at first, it would go on and off if I was sitting in the seat and someone else was driving. I assumed it was because it thought I was a child sitting in the front seat, as I am a 30 year old female who barely weighs 100 lbs. The light is now constantly on.

The contact owns a 2008 Buick Enclave. While driving, the "service air bag" message appeared on the instrument panel. The contact called hutchinson Buick GMC Cadillac (3989 river pl dr, macon, ga 31210, (478) 757-2177) and was informed that the sensor or module in the seat may have caused the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact had a computer scan test by an independent mechanic, but the results were unknown. The contact also stated that the failure only occurred when the passenger seat was occupied. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the VIN; therefore, the contact would have to pay for the repair. The approximate failure mileage was 149,000.

Sunroof water leak. When it rains water pours from all parts of the roof onto the interior of the car. From falling water to water running down through the walls of every part of the car. It has started to cause electrical problems with the vehicle and also I have found mold under the carpet where the water accumulates. It is usually 1 to 2 inches of water on the floor boards after raining. Causing mold, rust and mildew. This happens whenever it rains, a little or alot. This may be causing unhealth iisues. It would be smart for Buick to fix these issues now before medical bills are involved.

The passenger airbag light always says off and the service air bag notice is always on. We took the car in to a dealer several years ago and were told it is not covered under the airbag recall. This is hard to believe; the vehicle has never been in an accident. GM should not risk an important safety issue defect to go ignored.

When the tailgate was utilized, the door would raise up, but would automatically fall down and not remain in the upward position. Also, the sun roof leaked water into the vehicle. As a result, mildew covered the front and rear floors. Furthermore, the air bag indicator remained illuminated and would not turn off. There were no warning indicators illuminated for the tailgate or sun roof. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 141,966.

Went to get out of the vehicle from driver side and the door wouldnt open. You can pull the door handle back but door will not open. Door will open from the outside. Also, the passenger side air bag notification comes on for a while but then will go off periodically. When you start the vehicle it will say "service air bag" (picture attached).

2008 Buick Enclave (recall# 14030)-failure of the passenger side impact air bags intermittently not working. Researched and discovered that General Motors llc (GM) is recalling certain model year 2008-2013 Buick Enclave. The air bag indicator remains illuminated intermittently off and on while driving with a passenger in the drivers seat. The airbag sensor will not register any if the person in the passenger seat is not of a certain weight. This is really a dangerous situation given that my teenagers ride in the front passenger seat most times. Please have someone contact me immediately to get this resolved. This recall is identical to my 2008 Buick but yet not showing for my VIN.
