There is a recall on the my car the Buick Enclave but it does not cover mine. Even though the problem is exactly the same as the recall. I am really appalled that this has happened to the car only being at 150k and that the recall is the exact same description as my problem.

I spoke to many mechanics and they all said the buick enclave had transmission problems. Someone had it replaced 3 times. I know this should of been recalled.

I am very disappointed that my buick Enclave transmission replacement was not covered under Buick warranty. Other similar Enclaves are covered. We had to pay $5,668.37 to replace the transmission. My wife was at work and could not get home, the transmission would not shift from park to reverse. The problem was a broken 3-5-R wave plate.(some enclaves are covered under warranty) I don't think that is fair for Buick to cover some Enclaves and not others with the exact same wave plate!!!!

I bought this Buick used, and could tell it was having problems, took it to the dealer and he sent it in to have fixed, cost them over $3K, ran good for about a month and then the engine light comes on, stop in and it has 2 codes, we fix those, then the same stuff starts to happen again with no power, and died out in the middle of nowhere, get it towed to the dealer they say its the catalytic converter and another $2k, I drive it off the lot and I sh*t you not my engine light comes back on before I get home (10 min. drive ) I call them the next day because of course they were closing when I picked up, said bring it in, we will see whats up. they hook it up and no codes so they say no problems. I said it runs like crap and acts like it wont shift and when I stop or slow down like an exit on hwy ( I DRIVE ALL HWY MILES) and speed up to get on, it wont go and the rpm are way up to the 6 and sounds like she is going to blow up, I let my foot of the gas and it literately stops in the middle of the hwy. Im going to get Killed ! So we call back the company that fixed it when we first bought it. they are trying to say over the phone without even looking at it that its electrical. BULLSHIT! I may be a women but Im not stupid, so they say bring it in and you will have to pay to hook it up, Why? you claimed to fix it, stand behind your work! to be continued... Oh lord why did I believe they fixed it and why did I buy this piece of sh*t. Back to Ford I go!!!

Friends of ours told us they needed a new transmission for their 2008 Enclave and GM reimbursed them for it. Any idea if GM is doing something similar for transmission problems with the 2009 Enclave?

First I want to start off by saying I bought this car from a small middle class couple struggling in Marina Ca. I thought these guys would have my back and gave me a good deal on this car. Big Mistake. Since I had this car I have been pouring money into this vehicle like crazy. As a single mom you have to pick between food or repairs. My first serious repair was on 9-15-2016 at Alfred Mathews in Modesto. My catalytic convertor went out. That was two paychecks and almost became homeless with my children.

Bought a 2009 Enclave in February 2015 and in December the transmission was destroyed due to wave plate failure. GM then issued recall notice for the problem. Worst vehicle I have ever owned. A/c has stopped working and the dealership is quoting now $3000 to fix. Several individuals online are reporting design flaw is cause. Will never buy another GM. Can't believe sold a problem free Nissan for this lemon.

While trying to pass another vehicle on the highway (65mph) the tachometer suddenly reved to 6000rpm with a loud "thunk" and a good jolt. The vehicle was then unable to accelerate as if the clutch was blown.

After stopping and waiting for a few minutes, and restarting the vehicle, transmission behaved normally for 15 min and then did the same thing again. This time we had what seemed like "3rd gear" available but nothing else. We were able to limp home @ 55. Ever try to accelerate from a dead stop in 3rd gear? It's really hard. So needless to say we didn't like stoplights coming home that night.

The dealer is still trying to figure out what happened. He thinks a solenoid failed and caused the clutch to fry (something about "wave plates" being trashed too)

I've never owned a car with as many expensive failures as this Enclave.
