I own a 2011 Enclave, and of course the warranty has just expired. I am experiencing what seems to be a transmission problem at very low speed. The noise shows up only when you press the accelerator coming from a stop or at very low speed (a squeak, like something needs to be greased badly).
I do not hear it when turning, only at low "stop and go traffic" speeds. The squeaking sound is louder on the driver's side, and stops when foot is off accelerator. Once driving at normal speeds 35-45mph you don't hear it inside the car. I was stuck in traffic yesterday, due to accident, and I really was made aware of this strange sound. Squeaking hinge on a door sound, but just briefly then it stops. When you accelerate and the body of the car slightly tips back, its like a hinge that needs greasing.
Called dealer over the phone, no recalls or any advice, just bring it in and pay for a service technician to look at it.
Any advice what this could be???
Update from Apr 1, 2015: OK, took 2011 Enclave into Tires Plus locally, and mechanic said both motor mounts are shot in the front. With only 54K miles...can this be true....so soon?
Update from Apr 28, 2015: Well, took it to Tires Plus they took a good look at it and it had nothing to do with shocks, brakes, or tires. They told me it was the front and rear motor mounds. They needed to be replaced, however they did not have the part in stock so it would take a day or two. Meanwhile I needed to go out of time, so time was of the essence. I called the dealer and they did have both parts in stock and would work me in that same day. Nice people! Then I find out they looked at my car thoroughly, and ONLY the front motor mound needed to be replaced! Saved me some extra money in parts (about $100). Now no more noise! Hooray.
