I had taken to Alpena Mi.Buick GMC address 133 Johnson St Alpena Mi. 49707. When the warning come up on the message center on the dash [XXX] That said service side detection system and in the side mirrors each side light up all the time and would cost $875 installed at that time had to pay $80.19 inspect and advise. At that time was unable to afford that cost to have fixed. So with those light on in your mirrors it was a unsafe to drive in daylight hours and worse in night time driving so we had to limit our driving because of this and both my wife and myself are on disability.. It was a distraction and made for unsafe travel for ourselves and for other drivers on the roads. We were able to afford on [XXX] and at time was taken back to. The same dealership for repair at that time they installed the side detection Kit cost was $812.66 which was less then the original cost. Question number 2 With this lights on in your mirrors at all times when we would be driving day and night it was a big distraction that you never would know if someone was in the next lane to you on two lane road or on the interstate. So each person was at risk in our vehicle as well as other vehicles. Question number 3 Yes that was confirmed by Alpena Buick GMC the dealer I had taken the car to back on [XXX]. Question number 4 As far as it being a GM dealer and being a GM part I would say yes. Question 5 yes as I told you in Question 1 it had on the message center in dash Service Side Detection as well as lights on in both mirrors. In my words this is a reason this should be a recall first for people that are driving and can't afford to have fixed this is a accidents waiting to happen with death please do a recall. First incidence was 11/22/2018 headlights did not function nor did taillights. Manually turned them on; yet was pulled by Ga sheriff for no headlights, who escorted me to my hotel. Put car in the shop on 11/24/2018 for diagnostics. Nothing found. Lights have continuously malfunctioned for the last six years and the vehicle has been in the shop & the problem can't be reproduced! The issue has become worse to the point the lights will not always come on when manually turned on & they will go out. There are no warning lamps or messages until this last time when we were almost killed on Lookout Mountain in Al, on 5/9/2023. It was 7:23pm it was raining & the headlights went out, as did the dash lights & OnStar. This stretch of mountain is known as "Joe's Truck Stop;" because so many 18 wheelers have wrecked on this stretch of road. At the first pullover I stopped, cut car off, then restarted it & a message error was on the screen. The lights came on automatically, OnStar restarted & everything worked fine. I had just had the vehicle in my local dealership for the same issue & had it inspected, & no issues were found! This is why I don't drive this vehicle after dark & why it only has 18,000+ miles on it. I paid over $45,000 for a vehicle I can't enjoy & I could be killed & no one would know why; therefore, if I don't get some answers I'm going public. My Buick Enclave can't be the only one with this malfunction.

The battery, which is housed within the passenger compartment, began emitting fumes that caused passengers to experience physical symptoms of nausea and headache, followed by smoke and extreme heat. We realized what was going on and turned off the engine before it caught fire, but there were no warning lights on the dash and no messages from the vehicle itself. Initially we thought it was a smell outside of the vehicle. Even the vehicle app diagnostics don't report any kind of an issue.

Our vehicle was shifted in reverse to back out of a parking space. Engine was on, all controls normal, no warning lights, etc. As we backed out of our parking space all of a sudden the gas and brake pedals locked up and could not be moved. The car slowly rolled backyards due to slight inlcine. I quickly shifted back to park, turned off the car and waited a minute before restarting. All seemed fine. 2.5 weeks later, the same exact thing happened again. My whole family was in the vehicle the first time and after only 4 days of ownership as a brand new car. The second time was my wife and kids in the middle of the gorcery store parking lot. The vehicle only had 1000 miles on it before being sent back to the dealer to figure out what happened. We traded the vehicle back to the dealer and took a heavy loss as this was the only solution offered to us. GM refused to buy the vehicle back from the dealer because they said they couldn't duplicate the problem. I have gotten nowhere with GM.
