In November of 2023 the catalytic converter was replaced on my car. After a month's use the engine light came on again, my mechanic (his name is Joseph) said it was the catalytic converter in the front now. He says the Buick, Encore has two catalytic converters in the car. So, he replaces the second one. About a month later the engine light comes on and I go back to him again. He says to wait a few weeks because he has a problem with his back. He says it is OK to run the car with the engine light on. I go back in a few weeks he says he has to have an operation on his back. He says it will be about eight to ten weeks and he will be back. In the meantime, he sells the station. I go back and talk to the new owner. He says he will not stand by the other mechanic's work, and he doesn't know where Joseph went. So now I do not know what to do. My inspection is due in January, 25 and I know I will not be able to get an inspection sicker with the engine light on.

I am annoyed that the warranty for emissions only lasts til 80,000 and mine just went out right after that, even though the car is 3 years old. The dealer said it is a VERY COMMON problem on the Encores. After having an Enclave and all the problems it had, I will never have another Buick.
