This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Buick dealer.
Had other issues with this car. The hum was a bad oil pump, but it was fixed. after some time it returned. Now Buick is talking about an amplifier is bad but hasn't issued a total recall. My opinion it may a way to cover the oil pump which will cause total engine failure. DO NOT BUY AN ENCORE. IF YOU HAVE ONE AND HAVE AN HUM GET RID OF IT BEFORE YOUR ENGINE FAILS.

radio dims & volume lowers. sometimes turning off
I have taken car to dealer at least 7 times for this complaint. They have gone so far as to change the radio out once. They even upgraded the software. The radio was replaced on 5/27/16. I just dropped my car off at the dealer again (for the second time since radio was replaced), with the same problem. The dealer is being cooperative, but I can tell they are getting frustrated too. It seems to me, the problem may not be the radio.

On my way home from work, I went to turn the radio on and the lights come on and dials work. However, there's no sound on bluetooth, am, fm. On the satellite I have sound. Turned car off when in a safe place and all is working fine, so I called dealer with the same story and they said bring it in when it isn't working. I did that today and as soon as we turned it off and on, all is working fine - no codes, no nothing - it just works. It's very frustrating. They said there is nothing they can do.
