Envision Essence 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,600 miles

The Buick Envision drives and rides great. The problem and safety issue comes in is when you stop and need to make a quick start due to heavy traffic. The engine stops when the tires stop rolling up to a stop sign or red light, and it takes only a matter of seconds for the engine to restart but in these seconds could mean a fatal crash.

With one of the problems, if you you slide your foot from the brake pedal to accelerator in attempt to get into traffic and not realizing the engine has stopped it has on occasion felt as though you were revving the engine and slamming the transmission into gear (it feels like something is going to break). Other times at traffic light (in traffic) I've noticed that when the engine restarts, the engine will stumble like a misfire has occurred. (traffic is not very forgiving for a piece of junk in the road) But no codes to indicate a malfunction has occurred.

I've discussed the issue with the sales manager and in his reply/fix to the problem, he suggested knocking the Envision in neutral as approaching a stop sign or light. I'm close to sixty years old with a forty-plus thousand dollar automobile and him telling me to do something like this, I had a car at sixteen that costed a couple hundred dollars that I did this with until I was able to repair the carburetor.

THIS SHOULD NOT BE THE FIX...
