1st time I was stopped in a line up during construction, 2nd time coming home from work and just made it to town. I commute daily during dark hours and travel to a lot of events in the summer with the family. Very thankful I was moving slow and stopped when they failed. Hate to think of results if I were at speed on a road I didn't know, with a car load of family. Had it fixed but don't trust the car now. Installed rain lamps as a back up if it happens again.
Update from Aug 30, 2015: Was just advised by a coworker who has a newer version that he received an email about this problem. He said there was a recall for this problem

I drive to work in the dark and 3 times in the last 2 weeks, the headlights just turn off after driving about 6 miles. I checked and there is no recall for the 2005 LaCrosse. I will take it to my mechanic this week.

I noticed that my headlighs would flicker intermittently or cut off while driving. I checked it and it seemed like nothing was wrong. Eventually, my low beams did not work and I was forced to use my high beams for a year. I researched online and saw no recalls whatsoever but there was a fix- change the HDM Relay. I called a dealer and they had never heard of this issue.
After one of my high beams went out, I tried the fix and it worked.

My headlights keep going out!! I have replaced them many times. I had to replace both at one time once. Still did not help. I can not drive my car at night because too Dangerous!! They would blink on & off & now do not work at all. I need a solution before someone gets HURT!!! If not me possibly the person coming head on toward me or behind me. The high beams have no issues.

Driving down the road and lights go off. I pull over and finally figure out that the bright works but not my dim. Take to mechanic they fix and change bulbs out and it happens again, and again, a third time. GRRRR. Any fixes for this?

I replaced relay for low beam lights, replaced fuses, replaced day run lights module and the problem still exists. and I went to dealership over and over and they told me there was no recall for a lighting problem.

On my 2005 Buick La Crosse, the headlights keep going out. The high beams work okay for now. I just had both headlamps replaced in July and now it is November and already I am having the same problem. I have my car serviced at the local Buick dealership and they never mention any problems that the La Crosse, is having with the front headlamps. I will call GM and file a complaint because I am sure this is happening to other Buick La Crosse owners.

Got a 2005 Buick Lacrosse bought it used from a dealer about a year ago and now the problems start. Headlights would flicker but never go out was told it was the alternator by guy who worked at GM. Well bought a new alternator had it put on and it seemed to correct the problem for just over a week and then the headlights would flicker and just go out. NOT COOL WHEN YOU CAN'T SEE. Well done research and seems I am not the only one with this problem and yes I made a complaint , but do you think GM cares? HA HA. They said that they would waive the diagnostic fee if I took to a GM dealer well when all was said and done that all changed once they found out I had a after market alternator put on by someone other than THE ALMIGHTY GM. They kept trying to tell me that is what the problems was the alternator because someone else put it on. OH NO THAT IS NOT THE PROBLEM,BUT THEY SAY IT IS AND THEY HAVE NOT EVEN SEEN MY CAR. ANOTHER THING DO THEY SOUND OR EVEN CARE IF SOMEONE GETS HURT OR EVEN DIES DUE TO HEADLIGHTS GOING OUT WHEN YOU ARE CRUISING 65 MPH DOWN A BUSY HIGHWAY?NO NO NO NO NEVER ONCE DID THEY ACT AS IF THEY CARED. SO IF YOU HAVE THIS PROBLEM CALL GM AND BITCH THEY SAID THEY NEED MORE COMPLAINTS. WELL I SAY GIVE IT TO THEM.

The low beams go off while driving at night. The high beams and all other lights work. This is an intermittent problem. I'll be driving and all of a sudden I'm in the dark. Scary situation! By trying everything I found my high beams worked. I've spent LOTS to fix it and no one has come up with a solution.
Like the other complaint I read I'd like to drive this car through the dealership where I bought it but I too would still have to pay for a car I have wrecked. I see there is only one complaint registered besides mine. However I have read many, many of the same complaint elsewhere. I read one where a GM mechanic says he sees this problem at least once a week. What I want to know, WHY HAS GM NOT ISSUED A RECALL OR PUT OUT A NOTICE ON THIS VERY, VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM? Why isn't anyone sharing a solution to this?

I Purchased this car Feb 4,2013 From a local used car lot, Less than 2wks after purchase i began having thes problems, When i contacted the dealer She refused to give me a loaner so i could go to work while mine was being repaired. This problem with the headlights failing is scary!!!!! I have a child and im worried that this will happen and i have an accident.I paid a good chunk of money for this car and did not go into a car payment to now have repair bills. Im at a loss and dont know what to do, Went to see about trading it off on a newer car but it seems im stuck with this one because i have not had but 90 days. It has been a downhill affect since i bought this car and am really regretting the purchase. I feel like driving it thru front of car dealers windows that sold me this piece of crap car!!!!!! But that wont due any good because i will still have to make the payments on not only a lemon but now wrecked. If somebody can please give me any ideas as to why my headlights go off while im driving i would appreciate it greatly,
