SOLUTIONS FOR BUICK DOOR LOCK MALFUNCTION PROBLEMS

I read all the Posts from Consumers who experienced Buick Door Lock Malfunctions in one way or another. I really HATE to see Consumers SO Frustrated & Helpless with Buick LaCrosse 2008 Door Lock Problems !! Seems many Consumers did NOT get it FIXED & did NOT get final resolution from Car Dealer or Buick GM.

SUBMIT YOUR COMPLAINT TO BCR & NHTSA Consumers Need To Report Their Problem Direct To Buick Customer Relations (BCR) AND Direct To The NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). Google To Get Their Website & Phone Number. File A Complaint !! BCR Works With NHTSA To Get Recalls Issued. BCR Said MOST IMPORTANT Thing Is -- They Need To Collect VIN#'s From Consumers In Order To Get A Recall Issued With NHTSA !!

HOW TO FIX THE BUICK DOOR LOCK MALFUNCTION PROBLEM Replace Body Control Module & Replace All Four (4) Door Lock Actuators.

PROOF THIS SOLUTION WORKS (read this post from car complaints website)

Bought the 2008 Lacrosse used in July of 2013. Started having problems on and off with the automatic door locks approx. 18 months later. Complained to dealer several times but of course the door locks would work fine while at dealer. Drove over to dealer one time while locks were not working correctly. Service advisor looked at them, saw the problem & said make an appointment and we will fix them. When I went to this appointment the service advisor had retired, the door locks were working ok and they said there was nothing they could do unless they saw the locks not working properly. Starting in July of 2016 at 60000 miles at times doors would only lock by using top manual button. (Big safety and security issue) Went to an Independent Repair place who said that it did not matter if the door locks were working properly they could find the problem. I spent $1600. on a NEW Body Control Module and four door lock actuators. So far the problem seems to be corrected.

Per my own exposure to this SCARY Safety Issue Problem -- My 75 Year Old Senior Citizen Mother got LOCKED inside her 2007 Buick LaCrosse like a prisoner for 1/2 hour in the Dead Of Winter. The Steering Wheel locked up & Car Key would not turn in the ignition -- so NO HEAT. She could NOT open the Car Windows to get any fresh air either.

YIKES !! A person can freeze to death in COLD Winter !! NO Heat & NO Fresh Air !! . In HOT Summer -- a person can suffocate inside of their car. NO Air Conditioning & NO Fresh Air. You don't know for how long you will be trapped inside your car. Clearly -- This Is A BIG Safety Issue.

So I filed a complaint with Buick Customer Relations (BCR) & NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) + I advise others to do the same. After you file a complaint with BCR -- get your car inspected at Buick or GM Dealer bcuz BCR with work with Car Dealer to investigate the problem. This is the ONLY way a Consumer can get ANY Final Resolution to this Scary & Frustrating & Mysterious Buick Door Lock Problem.

MORE CONSUMERS NEED TO COMPLAIN TO BUICK CUSTOMER RELATIONS (BCR) & NHTSA (THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION). SUBMIT YOUR VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) To BCR & NHTSA.

Buick Needs To Institute A FREE National Rescue Service To HELP People Who Get Locked & Trapped Inside Of Their Buick Cars !! FACT: We Cannot Rely 100% On RoadSide Service Bcuz NOT All Persons Have RoadSide Assistance.

Remotes went out at first, then had each door lock started to fail. Brought it back to dealer and they charged me half what they said it would normally cost. I thought $ 500 was high, however it was a pain to lock doors individually each time I went somewhere. Sometimes they would lock and then not unlock and other times they would not lock at all. After spending the money to get them fixed, I have had them all fail same time, however only happening once in the while. Pain in the butt to have to take back when they fail because they will correct their self and they do not fail when take them to the dealer to prove what is happening.

door locks work intermittenly won't lock or unlock

My door locks on my 2008 Lacrosse will not work consistently. They lock the won't unlock. They will unlock then won't lock. The driver door will lock and the others don't. Sometimes none of them lock. Sometimes non of the lock. Sometimes the locks work when the car is put in drive and other times nothing. I took it to the Dealer today and the service manager told me the actuators all need replacing and it would be about 400.00 a door. What he didn't know is I have a maintenance background, so I asked him a couple questions he couldn't answer.

Question 1: How does the actuator work then doesn't work? It's either defective or it's not.

Question 2: Why does only one lock work then 4 then none if the actuator is bad it would not work period.

(His answer was my FOB may be defective I bought it off EBAY) I opened the trunk sounded the horn and actually got lucky and the doors actually locked and then wouldn't lock back. But a signal is a signal and there is no way that 4 actuators are all doing the same exact thing. I'd understand if 1 wouldn't work or even 2 but not all 4.

There is something else going on here.. Who knows what. There are times I can't lock my doors with the buttons inside the door. Other times they work like a dream. Same actuator same connections.

Rear driver's side automatic door lock only working intermittently, whether with key fob or any door switch.. Not the fuse. Will either function partially, or not at all and force me to have to watch and hand lock and unlock to use this door and make sure car secure. If car is cold, or door has not been in the sun to heat, it will work, but if car has been driven to warm up or the door has been in sunshine, forget it. Have been to dealership three times, and they way nothing wrong with the door lock or mechanism, but of course, offer to take the door apart and replace the switch. While car is out of warranty for date, it has fewer than 35,000 miles on it and is in immaculate condition. Really....this is an issue in an emergency, not just an annoyance.

The fob works sometimes for some doors...you just never know. Sometimes it doesn't work at all, have to use the key to get in. Sometimes the doors don't unlock when you put the car in park. I have been trapped in my car, door wouldn't open even when I maually unlocked it. Doors lock and unlock at random, whether you use the fob or maually lock that is on the drivers door. Sometimes the alarm goes off when I open the drivers door after unlocking it with the fob. Very much a mystery, and it is a big pain in the ass, have to check all the doors to make sure they are really locked. Big Fail.
