Engine dies unexpectedly at any time. Seems to happen in hot weather, Had fuel pump, screen, fuel filter replaced. Then Ignition Module replaced. Mechanic says there is 40 pounds of fuel pressure after fuel pump installed. Fuel injectors are operating OK.
When engine dies, fuel line under hood is tested via unscrew cap. Gas pressure is supposed to squirt gas when valve is pushed. Gas slowly seeps out. It's as if something is telling the fuel pump to stop sending gas.
After 10 minutes or more, car will start and run ... and either die again, or keep running. Mechanic is as baffled as I. Car has a new engine 4 months ago, new spark plugs and wires. After new fuel pump, filter and ignition module installed, car runs better, yet primary problem of engine dying remains.
