Daughter driving to school, died in a one lane construction zone. From what she told me on phone, it Might be a failed alternator. Had son bring out a new, charged battery. If it started, at least she could move the car to a better location. No good. Got off work and went out there. Lights, windows, locks all power worked. Could use remote to lock/unlock as well. What didnt work was the gauge cluster didnt come up with ignition switch in on or run position, as well as the idiot light strip at top of dashboard. As well, of course, the starter. So far, no helpfull ideas from anyone I asked. Great going GM.

Car was stuttering and engine was cutting out. It had been happening more and more frequently over the course of the month when it finally would just cut out every 30 seconds or so. Took it to a mechanic, and he checked the codes. Mass airflow sensor was the only thing popping up. I could either buy it new for $140 or go to the local part picker yard and grab it for $30. I opted for the used one and got myself some new spark cables as well. After labor the whole cost was about $120-$140 and it ran great from then on. Definitely a major issue but considering the cost to fix it wasn't all that large, and that you could easily do it yourself ( the airflow sensor is VERY easy to find and remove; all you need is a Phillips head screwdriver) deems it easier to deal with.
