There is a part which is called the plenum. It causes a problem with the gasket, which messed up the intake manifold. Took to the dealer, but problem recurred.

While driving at 35 mph, the vehicle over heated due to a plastic intake manifold. The consumer was forced to pull over. An independent technician replaced the manifold. The consumer stated the vehicle did not have a warranty. Dealer notified.. the engine coolant ate through the plenum chambers.

Had a new 1998 Buick park ave and the intake manifold plenium went out almost ruining the engine. Bought a used 1999 Buick Lesabre and the same thing happened without any warning. The engine is ruined and must be replaced.

The consumer states that first the fuel pressure regulator was repaired, then the manifold was replaced. The mechanic stated that it looked like the manifold was defected from the factory.
