The contact owns a 2000 Buick Lesabre. The vehicle caught fire while parked. The possible cause of the fire was due to the fuel pump. The vehicle has not been inspected by the dealer. 2000 Buick Lesabre had problems with the fuel pressure regulator. The consumer found a recall on the fuel pressure regulator on his vehicle. The consumer had the same repair as mentioned in the recall and had his vehicle repaired in December 2004. The consumer never received recall 04V090000. The consumer request reimbursement for the repairs. The consumer also had numerous problem with the fuel injection system.

The contact stated his vehicle had a defective fuel pressure regulator. NHTSA recall, 04V090000 was issued concerning fuel pressure regulator, but this vehicle was not included due to VIN. This caused the vehicle not to start. It has been a problem since September 2002. The fuel pressure regulator was replaced at that time and it failed again ten days ago. The fuel pressure regulator has been replaced again with a newer part. Updated 11/29/05.

2000 Buick le saber. The car stalled at 10751 miles in February 2003 at any given time no matter what the driving conditions were. This happen again on August 15, 2003 and on September 24, 2004. The consumer called GM after the third time, they said there was a recall on this problem, they advised me to take vehicle to dealer to have this fixed. The recall was on the fuel pressure regulator. On September 29, 2004 the dealership said that they performed recall repairs. The car stalled again around August 5, 2005. Took to the dealer, and they kept it for 4 days, they duplicated the problem, and they fixed it again. This was on August 12, 2005. Drove the car about 3 blocks from house and the car stalled again. Had to sit for a while before the car would start. The car did start and while driving back home the car stalled again. Finally got the car home and mow it is in the driveway, talked to the manufacturer, and they said they would call consumer this evening about the problem.
