Consumer's vehicle was involved in a collision in which it was hit on the driver's side. Upon impact, neither the passenger's side air bag nor driver's side air bag deployed. The vehicle was totaled.

While driving consumer applied the brakes and pedal went to the floor. Consumer was unable to maintain control of the vehicle, and hit a tree and mailbox. Upon impact, both frontal air bags did not deploy. The driver sustained head and back injuries, and was transported by ambulance to a hospital. Vehicle was towed to the dealer.

I was going so slowly that there was no impact damage at all, not even the smallest dent of the bumper. The air bags deployed, however, and caused $3,800 damage to my car interior.
