2001 Buick Lesabre tire developed a slow leak. Upon inspection and repair of the leak mechanic noticed a problem with the tie rods. A nail was discovered in the tire.

Consumer stated that she had to replace both left and right tie rods because they were loose. One on the left was replaced at 28,000 miles, and the other was replaced at 49,000 miles. One of the tie rods replaced was on warranty. But, consumer had to pay for the second one. This was not normal for a 2001 vehicle.

While driving, a loud banging noise was heard coming from the passenger's side tire. The consumer took the vehicle to the dealer for inspection and the mechanic determined the driver and passenger side tie rods needed to be replaced due to worn out parts. The left front window was inoperative due to the regulator shorting out and there was a rattle in the dash on the passenger side due to the right and left outer tie rods being loose.

Vehicle's right tie rod ends broke while driving at 15 mph. The consumer discovered that the tie rod ends needed to be replaced when the vehicle was a year old, however in April of 2004 the tie rod busted loose, both inner and outer on the right side. The mechanic stated the tie rods were made out of aluminum and the soft metal was not sufficient enough for the tie rods.

The left and right tie rod wore badly and caused the vehicle to wander while driving. Consumer noticed vehicle was handling right. He took the vehicle to get new tires and learned the tie rods were defective.

The consumer reported multiple complaints with the vehicle. 1)the tie rod on the right side shimmied when vehicle was driven at a speed of 60 mph or more. 2. wheel bearings were making a humming sound when driven at 30 mph. 3. there was a clicking sound in the brakes when braking at any given speed.
