The A/C and heating problem appears to be due to a loose wire or a coupling problem near the glove compartment. This has been pointed out by others on the internet. The dealer's mechanics are useless and couldn't even identify the problem. My local dealer is terrible and just does whatever they have to do to collect a big repair bill.
