My power steering went out so my mechanic checked it out and said my pump went out so I bought a new power steering pump and pulley had it put on and that didn't fix the problem. The next day I went out of town to visit family and my car caught on fire due to the power steering fluid leaked all out on the motor and got hot enough to catch on fire. then my ignition stoped going all the way in park so I would have to disconect my battery cables so that it wouldn't run my battery down. The car wouldn't go all the way up in park making the ignition key wouldn't turn back far enough to shut my car off and lights

The car cuts off whwn you're driving it without warning. I have had the crankshaft position sensor replaced two times and it continues to fail. There are even reports in the internet that list this as a problem with this vehicle. I am afraid that someone will hit me from the rear and cause me injury or death. I am about to have this sensor replaced for a third time. It's absolutely ridiculous that I have to keep spending money out of my pocket for the same thing over and over again. This incident is a continual problem. It doesn't matter if you're stopped or driving it just happens out of the blue with no warning.

Aluminum V8 engine leaking oil profusely. Now getting smoke and odor while driving. My concern is that oil is leaking on to the hot exhaust manifold and could possibly ignite. I suspect engine bolts need to be retorqued which would necessitate engine removal to accomplish. This is a major design flaw which needs correcting. Leaks occur during all phases of operation. The leaks first became evident several years ago and have progressively worsened since.

While passing a vehicle, accelerator immediately accelerated the vehicle to over 115 mph quickly, and the speed continued to climb. Could not deaccelerate. Both feet on the brake, no luck, shifted to 1st gear, no luck, pushed many buttons on steering wheel, no luck, accepted the fact that this was going to be a high speed deliberate rollover. Finally at the last possible moment, throttle disengaged.

I am writing a complaint to inform you about my 2006 Buick Lucerne, VIN number [xxx]. it has a defect. The car has been accelerating at various times. Also, the car has turned off twice while I was driving. The first time was while I was driving in the parking lot at my job and the second time was on May 24, 2017 as I was just starting to pass the blinking lights. I really feel that the car is no longer safe to be driven after the recall in 2015. I honestly would like the problem fixed as soon as possible for my safety and the safety of others. This car is unsafe and I would prefer to have the value of the car instead of the car being repaired. The car was supposedly fixed after the recall and the same problem is still happening. It is my opinion that this car cannot be repaired. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

This 2006 Lucerne engine shuts off while in motion without warning. It has shut off four times this year and two times last year. The last time it shut off, was April 11, 2017 5:00 pm central standard time on a busy city street. My wife is not strong enough to steer this car when the engine shuts down. When she had restarted the engine she was so nervous until she accidentally turned the wrong way onto a busy by-pass.

I have filed a prior claim with you on the ignition control module failure. Dealer replaced the entire module - GM subsequently issued recall for Buick, altho they are claiming the failure has to do with a slot/hole in a key. I had only the key and the lock fob on the key - I did not have lots of keys and other accessories linked to my key, nor did I hit a pothole or anything jarring. The car just died, no brakes, steering, unable to restart the car and I had to have it towed. I was fortunate that it was at a low speed and not 65 mph on a highway. This repair cost me $939 dollars. And I am not sure that the replacement part isn't a defective duplicate, an inventory shelf item that has the same defect as the part replaced. If GM is claiming it's only a key issue, then the drivers of these larger vehicles are all at risk, as well as other vehicles that might be involved in an accident with a car unable to be controlled. Please don't let them get away with sweeping this issue under the rug. I don't want to be injured or cause a death because GM doesn't want to spend the money to replace defective modules. (I had the dealer give me the module they removed and will seek to find a good engineering test lab if GM continues to drag its feet on the Lucerne issue) I understand these parts were made in china and there is also a reported history of defects - here is a copy of material reprinted from reuters: America.aljazeera.com/articles/2014/6/25/GM-ignition-switchlinkedtorecallmadeinchina.html I am living on limited resources and don't want to have to sue GM to get reimbursed for this issue. Thank you for the follow-up.

Initially the auto hesitated and then accelerate. Reported to dealer on 09/18/06. Mileage was 7,291.. then the auto would stall when driving at various speeds, at one time at 60 mph on the garden state parkway. Various fixes by the dealer failed to stop the problem. Have all documentation. In touch with GM on 06/13/2014 and advised to again bring back to the dealer. (kerbeck Buick atlantic city NJ.). the GM rep (([xxx]?) then said go to another dealer if not satisfied. Going to dealer on next week. Please advise.

My 2006 Buick Lucerne engines stops randomly. As I am traveling down the road the engine suddenly cut off and there is a loss of all power steering and brakes. All electrical components blacks out and when it stops you can not crank it. After waiting different amounts of time you can crank it up and continues until the next mysterious outage. This is my wife car and I do not allow her to drive it. I do not take it on any winding roads. I went to the dealership where I purchased and was told if there is no check engine light then no codes will be set to find the problem. I have carried it to three other shops to no avail. One mechanical was driving it around town and it happen on a roundabout. He said he had to struggle with all his might to get though it before he could stop. I do not know what to do and hopefully nothing dreadful will happen, like GM cares.
