I was driving down the road about 1 mike from my house. The road is a country road and is straight. I wasn't distracted or speeding. It happened so fast but I think I may have hit a slight bump on the right hand shoulder of the road and then the car started fish tailing and then went off the road and was stopped when it hit a dirt driveway. I had no control of the car and the brakes failed to stop the car. The car was totaled with only 36000 miles on it even though I luckily just sideswiped a tree. The car always seemed hard to steer as if the steering was loose and you really had to pay attention and keep both hands on the steering wheel. The car was my elderly in-laws who bought it brand new in 2007. They both passed away in November 2018 and then I inherited it and had just recently started driving it. The air bags did not deploy.

While turning right at a slow speed the steering wheel locked up (wouldn't turn) for a second. After that I was able to resume steering through the corner. The engine did not shut off.

The contact owned a 2007 Buick Lucerne. While driving 55 mph, the power steering failed and the vehicle stalled. As a result, the contact crashed the vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed. One injury was sustained, which required medical attention. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 150,000.

While driving at 55-60 mph in 5:00 P.M. baton rouge, la traffic on joor road, I heard the doors automatically lock, then the engine died, I lost power including steering, brakes, and almost caused a terrible pile-up as my car stopped in heavy traffic. I had no ability to steer, brake, no power. I was at the mercy of god and this dead car, praying that no one was killed. I eventually was able to coast to a stop. Other vehicles were able to move to other lanes, abandoning me to the right hand lane of traffic. I called onstar and they should have the recording of the conversation, the terror I was in, and their instructions. I have 4 recorded incidences of the repetitive nature of this vehicle malfunction. I can provide details of all incidences, follow-ups with GM, and eventually having to payoff the piece of "junk" at a loss of over $20,000. My last GM purchase. I have since been driving Toyota. My experiences with GM management was horrific.

When making turns in wet weather, especially if there is a small amount of standing water, the power steering fails completely. When this happens the vehicle is almost impossible to control.

When bringing the car in for grinding brakes, my mechanic informed me that my rack and pinion was leaking and my rear struts were broken and leaking. (this was later confirmed with a Buick dealership). I was informed that my car would not be able to pass my yearly inspection without the rack and pinion repair. I was also informed that the repair would be quite costly. I was stunned since I have had nothing but complaints and repairs with this car which I am still paying for, the last past two and a half years respectively. I only have the car for four years. I feel the car is too young to have so many issues especially something as serious as a rack and pinion repair needed. This is a safety issue. I cannot drive the car like this except locally and I have to watch the power steering fluid which I have been doing. I also cannot drive it now since my inspection is expired. I do not have the money to pay for this right now and I have had exhaustive issues with this car. I approached Buick and they are not receptive. The car is no longer in warranty.

Car made a whirring sound when turning. Took it to the dealership and they said that I need rack and pinion replaced. There was a tsb for fluid leak from steering gear line connection which I did not know about - therefore my power steering fluid was almost empty. I am a senior citizen and think I should have been contacted about the tsb. This is a safety issue if it affects the steering and I believe the dealership should be responsible. Also when I was at the dealership on Monday another man was told he needed to have rack and pinion replaced on his Buick - isn't that curious.

Been having a clunk/bump type sound in the steering when the car is sitting still or at low speed, had a local dealer look at it a year ago and they found nothing, in addition too we are finding drops of oil in our driveway. We have had several people look at it, with no luck at finding the leak. Recently the whole front end has been shaking, with several folks checking, including the local dealer who yesterday told me they no longer work on GM products. I looked online and found that the 2006 models had the same problems, so I talked to the a dealer and he said there is nothing they could do since there were no service bulletins or recalls for these problems for 2007. Then I found your site and found there were several other people who have had the same problem. I told Buick this and they said there was nothing they could do that is was only the 2006 models with this problem. I told them there was way to much of a coincident that all these people are having the same problem for it to only be the year before. We are smelling burning oil and driveway full of oil just waiting to get into the local lake, not to mention the recall said it could cause a fire. Check service bulletin # 273064 action # 10032192 report date Mar 01, 2012 recall # 06V105000 service bulletin # 06V105000 (our vehicle is a V8) from your site: NHTSA # 10022433 & 10032192 & 1020815 ODI # 101483409 & 10460626.

Off and on scraping noise in steering column when turning right or left. Usually occurs in cold weather and disappears after driving a short distance. The car often pulls hard to the right making it hard to keep on the road. I have to keep alert so it does not cause an accident. The dash lights have a mind of their own sometimes they work and most of the time they don't. I have had the car in for repair several times for both issues but was told they can not do anything as it doesn't make a noise in the steering when I bring it in. Also the dash lights have always come back on after I drive the 35 miles to the dealer where I bought the car. I have a GM 1-year or 12,000 mile warranty on this car it will soon expire.

: the contact stated the vehicle presented a permanent problem with the interior instrument panel which did not illuminate properly during the day while driving various speeds. Also, the steering column turning radius was problematic when attempting to perform a U-turn. The dealer was contacted and did not provide any assistance. The manufacturer was also contacted and expressed the instrument panel was a manufacturer design feature that could not be corrected. No repairs were made.
