BEWARE << Got referred to a "mobile mechanic"....$40,00 to come out diagnose the problem, and that would go towards repair labor if he does the work!!! What a "deal" huh....well came out Tues. afternoon....The car is making an extremely annoying clanging noise....you would think water pump....guy even had a stethascope with a metal probe on it...used all over the serpentine belt components...looked like he knew what he was doing....official ruling..water pump....ok $38.00 cost of pump, his labor $75.00...I am exstatic!!! ....Water pump in....same exact noise....next tested alternator....A OK....well I knew I needed a new rack, and power steering pump...wasn't sure if that was noise source....said ok to that....Parts: pump $57.00..rack $109.00...outer tie rods..$38.00, fluid $5.00.....and Labor $200.00 (yes this is the price for everything done....great deal huh...)

well 2 days later, p/u car....power steering great ......SAME FREAKING NOISE!!! Take care to a guy who will remain my mechanic for the rest of my life.....Rich Lecore of Lecore Automotive Dublin Oh.....told him the problem, he had it diagnosed before I started the car up!! Harmonic Balancer.....cost of part $189.00....labor $80.00 total would be $269.00.......and That is what I wanted taken care of in the first place
