For the second time in 3 years the door latch on drivers side door has broken off. The door cannot be opened from the outside. The cost of repair is $150. I have heard of this same problem occurring in other GM vehicles with the same door latch design.

Driver's side door lock was defective as assembly failed. Unable to open door from the ouitside. Potential safety problem to driver if a medical emergency develope. Extracting driver from passanger side would have been near impossible because of bucket seats and console.
