While drving the hood latch released from the lock which caused the hood to fly up, cause unknown.

While driving the main hood latch failed. The secondary safety latch let go. The hood flew up over the windshield, causing poor visibility. The hood/its supporting parts/hinges, and inside light were destroyed. Also, there was a dent put in the roof.
