The engine caught on fire no more than 3minutes after I parked the car. The valve cover recall was repaired in 2016. Car was running fine. I just happened to go back out to the car to get my cell phone when I saw smoke. I open the hood and saw flames. I used a fire extinguisher to out he flame out. Now the car starts but runs too rough to even trust to drive it! why have the recall if it was going to catch fire anyways!

On 9/1/16, the engine caught on fire while parked, turned off, and unoccupied. Half the car burned--total loss. I learned shortly after that it was under recall for under hood fires--do I have any way to recover my losses from GM? I only had liability coverage, so there won't be any insurance money.

I talked to two different ladies at red lion Chevy about a recall on my car. I asked for a rental to be provided and both ladies said they would give me a rental at no cost since I would be dropping the car off, they didnt know if they would get to it right away and that it could take up to 3 hrs. Reason I talked to 2 ladies, first appointment got cancel, 2nd I forgot about and 3rd was today which I went in. Kevin checked me in and I asked about the rental and it was not in the system. So he asked matt. Matt refused the rental, kevin even tried to explain to matt, but matt didnt want to lsten, just said no we dont give out rentals, and said sorry I was told wrong and walked away. Very rude. I am a very busy person and dont have time to wait hour(s) on a repair. They said they would have a rental waiting on me at no cost, and they lied about it. This is dishonest. They wasted my time and gas. I left the lying dealership and went home with the recall not fixed. As far as I am concern, since they refused the rental they said they would provide, they refused to fix the recall. When I got home, I called the customer assistance center and they refused to help.
