One morning when I went out to start my car for work I noticed that it was very loud, sounded like a bad muffler. After it had been on for a few minutes I noticed that it quieted down and sounded almost normal. Each time after that however I noticed that it was loud initially then quieted down. Upon inspection I found that the cast iron exhaust manifold had a crack in the middle of it and it was loud until the metal heated up and expanded. Why the hell would quality cast iron crack? Oh wait, it is not quality cast iron it is cheap Chinese steel that GM bought for a bargain. I have owned over 20 cars in my life and never had a manifold crack! Never GM again!
