Regal GS

  • Automatic transmission

This first happened was shortly after purchasing my new car. My wife and I were going on a golfing Vacation. I was going down the Florida turnpike around 70 to 80 miles an hour and out of nowhere my car slammed on its brakes and if it wasn't for the seatbelts we would've gone through the windshield. When I returned home I made an appointment with the dealer I purchase it from to explain to him what had happened. I told him thank God there wasn't a semi behind me it would've roll over my car and we both would have been killed.

I brought the car back about 10 times and I even took it to different dealerships and all they told me was it was normal. It only happens when the ABS makes a big clunk or some type of noise, it is coming from the left front side of the car. I've had everything checked out I've had the sensors checked out my brakes checked out and they make it sound like it's all in my head. I've had mechanics ride with me and they have heard the noise. They have told me many times that is normal. I can't accept the reasoning for this problem. I use my cruise control all the time even going down side streets - if the dealer was correct this noise will happen every time the automatic braking system applied itself. This problem happens about one out of every 50 times the ABS/Cruise control slows down the car and in some cases totally stops the car.

I understand that sometimes going around a curve road, or coming up to a divider, or even going under a bridge could send a signal to my ABS system that I am going to collide with something. But it happens on an open road with nothing in front of it. My big problem is that I purchase "2" 2016 Buick regal new and one without the advance braking system and I have not had any problems with this car.
