The first indication that a problem existed was a "check engine" light which was about a year ago. On having the vehicle checked by the dealership, I was told that there was a problem with the fly wheel, at which time would cost $1500 to repair. The vehicle was running good, except for a peculiar sound when idling, so the repair was not made. On last week the car began to start with what seemed to be a weak starter, or battery, but finally failed to start, and has not started since. I ran a test with my battery charger which indicated a bad alternator (by red indicator light on charger). The battery will charge fully, but when I attempt to start the car the engine will not turn, and the battery will rapidly lose charge. I recently purchased a diagnostic tool, whereby, upon running a diagnosis on this car the codes indicates on of the possible causes to be a torc converter clutch failure, or that is stuck in the off position. I don't want to be ripped off by the repair shop, so I am seeking information from a rendezvous owner who may be familiar with this problem, and who has found the cause. Thanks.

car will start for a second, shut off and won't start again for about 5 minutes it does turn over but just won't catch to run until 5 or 8 minutes later. replaced fuel filter , checked fuel pump and checked to make sure it was getting gas. will run ok for 3 or 4 days and start everytime then the problem starts again. no it is not flooded. worst car since day 1 bought brand new but loved the way it drove so i had the engine replaced 2 years ago and now this problem of starting is happening in the last month. anyone else have this problem and what did you do.not going to contact the dealer been there done that and wrote letters too for years with no results.even tried to get this car declared a lemon --no luck
