- replace dash electrical relay board (2 reports)
Stopped for my morning coffee, went out to the car, and the engine turned over twice, then all the dash lights started flashing, then battery indicator stayed on, but car wouldn't turn over. Heard a hum when starter was engaged.
Had a dealership replace the relay, which required pulling the dash. After I got the car back, it happened again after one week. This time the problem was a pinched wire shorted out in the steering column, which the dealer confessed was his mistake and replaced the relay again and wiring, at his cost.
No other problems with the car, though (except window motor replacement) after 170,000 miles (knock on wood). Best comfort ride I have ever owned. Prefer to drive it over my wife's Ford Explorer for comfort.

I took my vehicle to the dealer on 6/19/12 for what started off as what supposedly is indicated again as SES light this is what they say i said I did not say that because i do not know what SES is.I did tell them that the battery light was coming on. The battery light is still on and this problem after taking it to them time after time for the same problem and never is it resolved. The notes on 6/19/12 states NPF WE WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE SYMPTOM DESCRIBED BY THE CUSTOMER. TO THIS DAY THE PROBLEM STILL EXIST BUT NOW THE BATTERY LIGHT , SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT, AWD LIGHT, JUST TO NAME A FEW. THE PROBLEM HAS GOTTEN TO WHERE IT EFFECTS THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM. JUST ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO I HAD THEM STOPPED THE BATTERY LIGHT FROM COMING ON FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS OR LESS AND NOW THINGS HAVE GOTTEN WORSE. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER AT LEAST FOUR OTHER TIMES TO NO AVAIL.
