Having had two of these transmission (original and then a used one with 78K lasting only 30K) there has to be an inherent problem with these. Consumer Reports agrees.

I HATE MY BUICK RENDEVOUZ. I will never buy BUICK again. Not only did my transmission go bad right after the warranty expired but also the gas gauge, alternator, starter, the window motor on both the front doors, had to buy 4 sensors all of them over $50 one being $120.00.Everything had to be replaced VERY PRICEY not to mention I was still making the freaking car note, and to topit off the car turned off in the middle off a busy intersection almost causing me an accident. I HATE MY BUICK!!!!!!!!!!!!UUUUURRRR
DO NOT BUY A BUICK RENDOVOUZ!!!!!!!!!!!NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Back in 08 I had the original transmission rebuilt. After 1 year and 1 month, it went again. Cost to rebuild was $2800. Bought new transmission from Buick for $2500, this was about 09 or 10. Transmission has done fine until now. Past few days transmission would sound like it was "dropping". Today I had it in drive, hit the gas and went nowhere - it was like being in neutral. It's getting towed to sit in my driveway because I can't afford another transmission (rebuilt or new), the car is 14 years old and let's face it, ridiculous to get a new tranny. And I'm so f*cking broke I can't afford a car payment. I joked I was going to be homeless and living in Buick, now I'll be homeless with a car that doesn't run. FML
