Verano 4 cyl

Whatever GM engineer had the idiotic idea to put 18" wheels and P235/45R18 tires on these cars should be fired! They may look good when the car is standing still, and may help cornering on a flat skip pad on a test track, but on the roads of the real world - they blow-out if you look at them cross-eyed! We were coming up I-75 in Ohio, I hit nothing - and got notice tire was going down on driver info system - car only has 5,200 miles on it! Turned out it was a pinhole in sidewall that was unrepairable - tire needed to be replaced at my expense. Buick dealer sales person had the same car, with 31,000 miles on it - said Continental was NO help, and he had replaced THREE of these tires so far! If you buy a Verano - get the 17" wheels with higher aspect sidewalls - the 18" wheels + P235/45R18 Continental tires suck! There are also other very similar complaints about this same tire/wheel combo for Veranos on this site!

Verano 4 cyl

18 inch tires blow out often

Hit an "average" pot hole at about 35 mph - same as car in front of me and behind me...in any other car I've owned...which are many...this would have been no big deal and no damage. In this Verano with 18" wheels and Continental P235/45R18 OEM tires - it results in another tire blow out that again ruins the tire - same right front I replaced at my cost a month ago - tire had 1,100 miles on it! Again - whatever moron GM engineer thought this was a tire/wheel combo suited for the real world and everyday driving should be fired! These low aspect Continental tires blow out and are ruined (sidewall damage) if you look at them cross-eyed...no way this tire / wheel combo should be on these cars which are primarily transportation...not muscle cars or exotics...driven by real everyday working people like me! Do NOT buy a Verano with 18" wheels and these P235/45R18 Continetal OEM tires...get the standard 17" wheels and higher aspect tires instead...they should be more real word proof!

THIS WAS MY FIRST BLOWOUT OF THREE. MY SON WAS WITH ME AND WE HAD A BLOWOUT, NOTHING IN THE ROAD, NO POT HOLE, NOTHING!!!! I'M A VERY SAFE DRIVER AND WAS NOT TRAVELING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED SO I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND CALL MY HUSBAND FOR HELP. WE HAD TO PULL OVER VERY CLOSE TO A DITCH BECAUSE THERE WASN'T MUCH OF A SHOULDER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. MY SON IS YOUNG AND WAS TERRIFIED WHEN THE CAR STARTED TO LOSE CONTROL. IF THERE HAD BEEN ONCOMING TRAFFIC WE WOULD HAVE HAD A HEAD ON COLLISION. THE CAR LOST CONTROL FOR A FEW SECONDS UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO REGAIN CONTROL. THIS WAS MY FIRST EVER BLOWOUT, BUT I KNEW HOW TO REGAIN CONTROL. AS I SAID EARLIER IF THERE WAS ONCOMING TRAFFIC WE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED!!!!! I WISH I HAD KNOWN IT WAS THE TIRES ON MY FIRST INCIDENT, BECAUSE I WOULD HAVE NEVER PURCHASED ANOTHER CONTINENTAL TIRE. BUT ON MY NEXT TWO PURCHASES I KNEW BETTER, I BOUGHT GOODRICH AND WILL BE CHANGING THE OTHER TWO AS SOON AS I CAN AFFORD IT. THIRTY YEARS OF DRIVING AND NEVER HAD SO MUCH AS A FLAT!!!! CHANGE YOUR TIRES BEFORE YOU OR SOMEONE YOU LOVE IS KILLED!!!!

THIS WAS MY SECOND BLOWOUT. THIS ONE WAS ON THE INTERSTATE AND I WAS IN THE INSIDE LANE. LUCKILY I'M AN EXPERIENCED DRIVER AND WAS ABLE TO KEEP CONTROL AND EASE OVER UNTIL I WAS ON THE SHOULDER. IT WAS THE BACK DRIVER SIDE TIRE, SO I WAS TRYING TO CHANGE MY TIRE WITH 18 WHEELERS FLYING BY AT 80 MILES AN HOUR. THIS WAS EXTREMELY FRIGHTENING. I AM A LADY SO LUCKILY SOMEONE STOPPED TO HELP BECAUSE THIS WAS VERY DANGEROUS!!!! VERANO DRIVERS CHANGE YOUR TIRES NOW,CONTINENTAL IS A LIABILITY!!!! IT'S A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH!!!!

THIS WAS MY THIRD BLOW OUT IN 4 MONTHS! I'VE BEEN DRIVING FOR OVER 30 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS. I HAVE SPOKEN TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE THE SAME VERANO AND THEY TOO HAVE EXPERIENCED BLOW OUTS. I SEARCHED CONTINENTAL TIRES AND THERE ARE TONS OF COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME ISSUE. THE INSIDE OF THE TIRE IS CUT.

THIS IS A REAL DANGER!!!!!! DO NOT USE CONTINENTAL TIRES, YOUR LIFE COULD DEPEND ON IT!!!!! I WAS LUCKY TO NOT BE TRAVELING AT A HIGH SPEED WHEN THE BLOWOUT HAPPENED, THERE IS A REALLY GOOD POSSIBILITY I WOULD HAVE BEEN KILLED AND WOULD HAVE LEFT MY CHILDREN WITHOUT A MOM!
