A "Service Side Detection Error" is causing multiple electrical issues in the front dash: prevent defrost and heat from working in the middle of a Vermont winter. This prevents me from seeing where I am going. This has also caused erratic problems with any function/feature on my electric panel, and erratic errors that come and go. There is a VERY HIGH NUMBER of Buick drivers who have had this error with the SAME EXACT issues. The sensors in the back wheel wells are not water proof. They get corroded. Additionally, after the sensors are replace, Buick requires the computer be reprogrammed only through them. non-GM service centers literally cannot reprogram them. I plan to get on each forum to request all drivers with this error file reports with NHTSA. I don't feel enough drivers know that they should/could do this and just end up paying this repair because they are just barely out of warranty, or GM says it is not covered. I also home to start a class-action lawsuit as electric panel issues involving our heating/cooling system fans and defrost, and other random electric problems related to this are vital to a drivers safety.

The side detection system has failed so I no longer have mirror blind spot protection. The problem is also causing problems with the instrument cluster failing. The issue is exactly like the one covered by bulliten 16-na-178 for other GM vehicles of the same model years which use the same system. GM should recall all the cars that used this system, not just some as it is a serious safety issue as the whole cluster can go dead while the car is being driven.
