The contact owns a 2015 Buick Verano. While parking at a restaurant, the engine revved and the vehicle accelerated independently. The vehicle lunged more than five feet across two concrete curbs and crashed into a tree. The air bags did not deploy. There were no injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and dealer were not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 38,000. Was passing other vehicles and the engine just shut off and would not restart lost steering and decelerating at a high rate, trucks allowed me to get off to the shoulder and car remained non starting. This was a rental from enterprise.
