I have only had the car for 5 months, bought @ 42000 miles, so i'm disappointed to find that this issue cropped up. I am the second owner and really like the car. Upon investigating the issue it became aware that GM has know of this problem for some time but has not/will not step up and issue a recall. They have stuck their head in the sand and have failed their customers trust. I have called my dealership and have found that replacement is in excess of $1300.00.

I have an extended warranty through Red Shield, done through my dealership. They have told me my claim will be denied due to lack of routine maintenance. Really?? My dealership sold the car to the first owner and then to myself. All service was done with the dealership and they provide me with all maintenance records.

By the way, the first owner is a personal friend so I know the history of the car. AVOID THESE GUYS, Red Shield is bogus..

So at this time I have no way of controlling anything that needed the touch screen to turn on or change. I have some buttons on the steering wheel but this is limited to basic functions.

I will now have to shop around for pricing, provided I can find it at a cheaper repair cost.
