It makes me ashamed to know how little Cadillac and General Motors will stand behind an issue with their vehicles that seems to be repetative and ongoing. I hope there is an attorney somewhere who is willing to stand up for the thousands of American Consumers who have had this situation occur and found no recourse unless they are willing to drop 700-1000 DOLLARS TO HAVE THIS SHODDY WORKMANSHIP REPLACED.
I've spent 24 years in uniform protecting the rights of American Citizens to live a free and unencumbered life only to be taken advantage of by the very assholes I protected all these damn years.
It borders on criminal.

It's the second time that the rear bezel that goes around the license plate and is also the clear lens for the reverse lights has fallen off or been stolen from the car. You call up Cadillac and they say you have to buy the whole assembly, you can't just buy the outside piece. They want to charge you, $700.00+ for the part then they tell you it will cost another $350.00 - $500.00 to paint it to match the car color. It's a scam on Cadillacs part because they knew they had substandard parts coming off the assembly line from subcontractors and they allowed this to continue. We work hard for our money and the car company thinks it's justifiable to profit from their mistakes, Trust me, I'll buy Ford next time. At least their body parts aren't falling off in the road.

There is a piece of plastic that covers the back lisence plate on this car. I called and asked how much for a new one, I was told $1200. You serious its plastic, so I did some research and this has happened to many of these cars. How is it that u buy a $40,000 car and a piece of plastic just falls off. How many people does this have to happen to before they are held liable for defect. I could have bought a ford focus but I wanted a cadillac this has happened to many people

Because the reverse light truck lid cover can become easily detached from rear of the vehicle, GM should take responsibility for a known defective part instead of capitalizing by requiring the consumer to pay for the entire part when the only the plastic cover is needed. The repair is outrageously costly to GM's clients for three major reasons: First, the minimum cost of the entire reverse light assembly (exclusively sold by the dealership) price may vary ranging from $620-$820 dollars plus tax depending upon the dealership where it is requisitioned. Secondly, the consumer must pay an auto body shop to replace the assembly which may cost $150-$200 dollars not including tax. Lastly, the part must be painted costing the consumer an additional $80-$150 plus tax. All these expenses and vehicle unavailability should not be maliciously imposed upon GM's patrons when the cover is only initially required. GM has had nine previous complaints reference this matter, and should reimburse repairs that have been completed to improve consumer satisfactory and confidence as well as implement plans to manufacture the cover before the problem escalates further. If this criteria continues expecting consumers to pay a large sum of money to fix a simple solution, it can cause disengagement of client and company relationship.
