About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
I was at a stop sign when I tried to press down on the gas the car started tug and it would only do that on the first gear one mechanic said that it has to do with the fuel system and I kept testing the car out and I kept pressing on the gas to see if there was a difference but it kept doing the same thing as the first time

Received notice of recall # 14405 in Sept 2014. GM says this is not a recall, per Cadillac cust center (800 458 8006). As such they have no information on said recall, nor a timeframe of when or if said recall will be performed. They have said parts are not currently available for repair of this supposed recall. There have been no reports of injuries or fatalities from this supposed problem, therefore it is not a priority to GM. The only remedy suggested by cust. Assistance is to pay dealer out of pocket to replace defective fuel pump with an identical part. There would be no recovery of cost due to same failure part being installed. Vehicle owner concludes GM will not comply with recall 14405, a known fire hazard to the vehicle and occupants. 10,005 vehicles are included in this recall.

Car was parked at work I was notified that it was leaking/pouring gasoline under car. Towed to dealership for repair. Dealership noted, "gas leaking at top of tank, connector shorted at top of fuel module which burnt a hole and was leaking gasoline". it cannot be caused by a road impact as it occurs on the fuel module on the top of the gas tank. Entire tank has to be dropped off of car to replace the module. I investigated in the Cadillac owners forum and it was noted that this has occurred on other Cadillac and GM vehicles.caused by a short. I notified dealership service manager of this and was told there is no recall.

The contact owns a 2006 Cadillac Cts. The contact was driving 35 mph when he noticed that the low fuel warning light was illuminated just before the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure was unable to be diagnosed. The manufacturer was contacted and advised that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign id number: 06V020000 (fuel system, gasoline:delivery) and provided no further assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 74,000 and the current mileage was 91,000.
