Since we purchased in 2008, my wife's car sits on he driveway, (slightly slanted). Low mileage-she does shopping only. After a huge driving rain storm here we noticed some vapor on the windows a few days after. When she opened the door and screaMED WE FOUND 6" OF WATER IN THE left REAR SEAT FOOT AREA, After bailing out (we had first opened the trunk to see if any water- none in the inside we could see), but water poured out of the lower lip of the trunk lid! So we took it to the body shop where it wqas repaired 1 1/2 yrs ago. A 16 wheelers rear end had removed about 14 inches from th front end, frame was straghtened, etc, $18K insured. They ran heavy water tests including man-in trunk, etc. Found nothing However they had taken all seats and under- carpet stuff out. Much additional water was found under every where-- we had not seen.
So after a week of tests and getting rid of water, entry of water was not duplicated. Suspicions of leaves in rt/lt drains of trunk ld. Leaves in hood by window- drains etc Also sun roof draiins suspected but not duplicated.
No leaves were added fo the test! This was the hardest rains we ever saw. The used press water to simulate. Any ideas?

Have had this problem to dealership 4 times. My trunk is still leaking. been given different reasons for the problem, but none fixed it. It was supposed to be brake lamp, then the trim across the back of the trunk. I checked it today myself and still found both parts are letting water into the trunk lid, holding it and then when I lift the trunk the water pours. Taking it back AGAIN and I am 50+ miles from the Dealership. :( we bought the car new.

The CTS is a great car for starters, however the trunk leak issue should be on a recall list. As far as I can tell, there isn't one. Water collects under the trunk lip felt cover and settles in the spare tire compartment. Why hasn't Cadillac addressed this problem? It sucks to have a car this nice in appearance that has this problem. So much for Cadillac setting the standard!
It seems a lot of owners are experiencing this problem. Come on Cadillac/ GM, get your act together and correct this crap!
