I bought a 2008 Cadillac CTS, my dream car and paid cash. It was sold to me as a "Certified Cadillac" I drove the car home and the next week I drove it again. I was slowly rolling through Walmart Parking lot, with my foot lightly on the brake when all of a sudden my car engine revved up and my car thrust forward. A man with 2 small children were crossing in front of me and I stopped just before striking the babies. I immediately called Cadillac and had Courtesy Chevrolet, in Salisbury, Md, come get my car and they took some of my engine apart, so they told me, found the problem and fixed it.
I picked the car up and brought it back to my garage. I have only driven it on Sunday to go to church, as I have another car for every day. Monday my husband had my other car and I needed to go in town so I took my Cadillac. As I got in line at the bank, cars all around and in front of me, I was sitting still with my foot lightly on the brake when all of a sudden my car lunged forward, engine screaming, speedometer pinned at 80 mph, rear wheels burning rubber, smoking and screaming and the ass end of my car going side to side because I am standing on my brake with both feet to keep it from hitting anyone until I could shut the engine off.
Cadillac and the technician tell me that it didn't throw a code, and they can't duplicate the problem that there is nothing they can do. At this point I have opened a complaint with the National Safety Committee in wash, dc, Cadillac Corporate Headquarters and Facebook. I will get them to pay attention to the problem because it is widespread. There is power in numbers so, if anyone reading this has or knows someone with a 2008 CTS, they need to be warned of the possibility of it happening to them and if any one out there has a similar problem, I am leading the charge against Cadillac to get this issue on the recall list, find out why it's happening and fix the problem. Enough is enough. Sherri at www.hottomale@comcast.net. Only serious consumers with this problem will be responded to.
