I have a 2008 CTS and the driver seat frame failed! Back was wobbly and mechanical mechanism was poking up through seat cushion bottom. While I would not label this as a catastrophic failure, I don't believe it would case an accident, I was disappointed to learn that my extended warranty did not cover this. I'm a manufacturing engineer and it's clear to me that the metal fatigued adjacent to weld. Either its a raw material issue or the welding process is too hot!
While doing my homework on the internet I noticed I'm not the only 2008 Cadillac CTS owner experiencing this problem.
