Brought car used a year ago for $12,000. My 2011 DTS was super clean with 103,000 miles on it. At first could not believe someone traded car in. I replaced oil, tranny and coolant fluid and installed brand new AC/Delco plugs, ran great.

About two months pass and I started noticing small oil drops on garage floor. Leak got progressively worse, had to park on street. Took car to a mechanic and found someone had smeared liquid gasket around part of oil pan to fix leak, so used car lot knew about it and did not tell me. Had to go to Cadillac mechanic who told me that I had three separate leaks, half case leak, rack and pinion leak and torque converter leak plus broken motor mount.

Now I knew why car was traded in. Total cost $4,000.00 which I paid. After a little research I found that half-case leaks was prominent in a lot of Devilles and DTSs Damn shame Cadillac did not address this problem early in 2000 when problem first start showing up. A friend needed a hood for his Buick so I rode with him to a salvage yard, guess what I seen plenty of ? Cadillac DTSs and Northstar engines. $500.00 for a 4.6 Northstar with 30 day warranty. A lot of the DTS cars were almost completely strip but they had over 20 Northstar engines sitting on pallets. I ask how many engines they sell and the answer was hardly any.

Never again will I buy American. I went out on a limb with this Cadillac. It's nothing more than a rebadged Chevy. Pathetic. I'm going back to Honda and Audi. I shouldn't have left them and now regret doing so. Bye bye crapillac. I feel bad for the idiots who buy American.
