The fuel line made of heavy plastic cracked and caused all the fuel to leak from the car near the engine as I was driving near my home. I am lucky the car did not catch fire before I realized it was leaking as I drove down the road.

The contact owns a 1995 Cadillac Deville. While driving approximately 55 mph, a large amound of smoke appeared from the front driver side. The contact pulled the vehicle over, opened the hood, and noticed flames. The contact extinguished the fire and the vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was diagnosed that there was a fuel rail leakage. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was excluded from NHTSA campaign number: 04V110000 (fuel system, gasoline). The failure mileage was approximately 124,000.
