The contact owns a 1995 Cadillac Eldorado. While parked, the contact noticed a strong fuel odor coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who discovered that the plastic fuel lines were not replaced with the stainless steel fuel lines. The GMC dealer was also contacted and stated that the vehicle was previously repaired according to NHTSA campaign number: 04V110000 (fuel system, gasoline). The remedy failed to correct the failure. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 140,000.

The contact noticed that there was a puddle located under the engine compartment. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for a diagnosis. The technician diagnosed that there was a fuel leak and the return line was fractured. The vehicle was repaired. However, the fuel odor persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 175,000.
