The 8-speed automatic has a known design issue known by GM refer to numerous service bulletins from the manufacturer. It seems as though there is insufficient lubrication of the transmission internal gear train. The shuttering is very noticeable and annoying. According to several owners and automotive experts, the issue will likely result in transmission failure due to an accumulation of metal shavings. There is a pending Class-action lawsuit against GM involving this transmission issue.
