Making a left turn, nothing special, and suddenly the Cadi felt like I was hitting a bunch of pot-holes and ground to a lurching halt. I had to get out to see if the wheel was still on the vehicle. I guess it was ABS brakes gone bad - dunno yet. Twenty minutes later, pulling into a parking space it did it again. These were not fancy, fast tricky moves. This is definitely scary - I'm afraid to take it on the mountain roads to Big bear this weekend. I could easily go off a cliff fighting the steering and brakes gone bad.
I can't recreate the problem on demand. No Check Engine light or other warning. Extremely dangerous if I were pulling out onto a busy highway and it suddenly stopped me in the oncoming traffic, or if I were slowing to turn off the freeway and got rear-ended.
My mechanic wants to test drive it - but you never know when it will happen again . . . .
Update from Oct 9, 2017: Now October. Mechanic says he can't diagnose it until there's a hard code, and all I've seen is the
"Check Stability System" warning I have to acknowledge to hear the radio. He says there are many things that could refer to. So I'm to wait for a code / emergency red warning . . . hope I don't die before that happens. This is scary, worried I will pull into traffic and have it lock up on me for no reason and I get in a collision, totally unable to get out of the way.
