I discovered fluid leaking under the vehicle and a banging, loud noise was present when shifting to 1st gear. The vehicle was taken to the mechanic where it was diagnosed that the rear differential gasket was ruptured. I called the GMC dealer in costa mesa, ca and I was informed that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 07V589000 (power train), even if the vehicle experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 65-70,000M. Please help me since the dealer said is not their responsability, because based on the VIN number, this car is not included in the recall. The recall started on Dec.20, 2007, so I'm almost 100% that my vehicle was built before that day in the year of 2007. Please help me since this noise is so loud and the banging is so powerfull, that my kids always think that I hit or somebodyelse hit our car.

Transfer case failed at 54,000 miles on a 7-year old car. Local mechanic repaired for $2700 and noted that it's a common problem for this model. The car jerked back and forth during driving at all speeds.

We bought the vehicle from a used dealer with factory warranty remaining. I noticed gear oil leaking from the rear differential axle. I took the vehicle into heritage @ 30,000 miles. They replaced a vent hose bulletin 07-04-20-0019. I picked the vehicle up and found the leak even worse the next morning. I immediately took the vehicle back on 1/22/08 and has been in the shop to date 2/18/09. When returned vehicle the dealer had to contact GM to find out what to do next. They replace the entire rear differential axle.I was called to pick up our truck only to discover now the engine check light will not go off. Again they have to call GM to see what to do next. I'm told they will now be replacing the entire cam-shaft sensors and timing chains.

Without any notice or lights or anything, my 2007 Cadillac Srx will loose power and decelerate from 60 to 0 in just a few seconds. I can have the gas pedal to the floor and the car does not move, even though the motor is still running. It is as if the car is in neutral. Once you turn the car off and on again, it will run fine for a few days or a week or so before happening again. This has happened 4 or 5 times and the dealer says without being able to reproduce the problem there is nothing they can do. One time I was on a major highway and could not get out of the road. Other vehicles were swerving around me at 60+ miles per hour. I could have been seriously injured any one of the times this has happened to my vehicle. This started at only 25,000 miles. I also have a grinding noise in the rear of the vehicle as well as when the front wheels are turned. This has been going on almost ever since I got the vehicle 14 months ago. It has been taken to the dealer time and time again and is still not fixed. I even called GM/Cadillac and still got no satisfaction. I am afraid the wheels are going to fall off at anytime. I am also afraid I am going to be hurt when these problems happen on the highway, it is a company vehicle and I have to carry fellow employees with me on numerous occasions. I no longer carry anyone with me because of the potential danger. No one can tell me what is wrong or how to fix it and Cadillac has been absolutely uncooperative with me.
