We have owned 18 vehicles over the past 25 years. This is our 5th Cadillac (our 1st SRX). We have NEVER had a problem like this with ANY of our cars! And no one we know has ever had the problem either!
In short, the driver seat SQUEAKS! As soon as you sit down it starts squeaking, and it gets worse when you make a turn. Basically, any time you shift your body it squeaks loudly. It started happening within the first year when the car had less than 10,000 miles.
We had it to 2 different dealers and got 2 different reasons for the problem. Both are completely unacceceptable! We first went to dealer where we bought the car (Heritage Cadillac in Lombard, Illinois). Their answer was "it could not be duplicated" therefore there wasn't a problem. Then we took it to the second dealer (Fox Valley GMC Buick in St. Charles, Illinois). Their answer was the leather seat had too much foam in it. Apparently, the bottom section of the seat is squeezing onto the top of the seat frame so the entire seat would have to be replaced. Of course, this is NOT covered under the warranty! The cost to replace the seat is $1,500!!!
Needless to say, we're furious! We spent over $45,000 for a car that is ANNOYING to drive! And turning up the radio is definitely NOT the answer like the second dealer suggested! The car has less than 50,000 miles and is in EXCELLENT condition. This is such a huge disappointment since we are a very loyal GM family. The 15 of of 18 cars have all been GM brands with 5 being Cadillacs. We'd say it's the SRX's but other friends have them too and DO NOT have seat issues. We just cannot believe that there are squeaky seat problems at all.
Anyone have any similar issues or advice what to do???
