Needless to say, in my 2010 Cadillac SRX BOTH front headlamp assemblies needed to be replaced due to severe moisture within. Cost was $1550 EACH. For several years Cadillac did not acknowledge the issue and refused to reimburse. Only in 2019 did a letter come from an entity offering reimbursement if I sign a waiver not to sue.

Why would ANYONE purchase a car from Cadillac anymore? Both heated mirrors failed, timing chains failed, navigation system failed, windshield washer hoses disintegrated, both front bearing bad, sunroof issue, tailgate issue, etc. etc.

Same problem everyone else has, I have a 2010 Cadillac SRX with water in the headlights. We drilled holes to let water out. When there is no moisture sometimes I have lights, but in fall and winter no. Now they both are out at the same time. Where do people even buy these at? Hid? Any help is appreciated.

Another problem with the Cadillac SRX. The front headlights fog up constantly and there are no recalls on this either. There are so many complaints on this issue and no recalls - it is really a shame that Cadillac does not own up to all their defects and charge so much for these pieces of crap cars. I will never buy a Cadillac again.

I received a letter saying that the headlamp replacement was covered by reimbursement up to $1600.00. They had my car for almost 2 weeks. This was done in April 29, 2020 and completed May 14, 2020. I sent in all required paperwork and still waiting to be reimbursed.

I will never go back to Cadillac for any other work. I also had an oil change and four new tires installed. My total bill was over $3000.00!!!

I am retired and that money has put a dent in my savings.

What is the hold up???

A few months back Cadillac offered to fix the problem by a Certified Cadillac Dealer. But there were no incentives to the people that had the problem corrected out of their pockets. They made the argument the repairs could not be made after March 01, 2020. But it was months after that date before they even acknowledged the problem. So if you fixed your head lights out-of-pocket by your repairman. You are s*** out of luck with Cadillac giving you any kind of reimbursement.

When driving at night you can't see to drive. Summer of 2019 I had LED lights installed to see if that would help. After $300 later it didn't. I got a notice in the mail in 2020 when we were in the middle of Covid 19 to buy new headlight units and Caddy MIGHT refund me back. Well, after calling over 100 times and leaving over 100 messages, I did get a phone call back and the RUDE woman said since they were not the original headlights it wouldn't be covered. I said to her, are you kidding me? It is a 2010 (10 years old) at that age who hasn't changed their head lights. As of this date I'm still waiting on Caddy to send me a check.

I am 69 years old and I bought this vehicle because it was easy to drive at nigh and had great headlight beams but that did not last for long. . My son and son in law but have replaced the bulbs in my car. This has not fixed the problem. I received a letter about the recall but I had to spend my own money and then Cadillac would decide weather to reimburse me. I do not have that kind of money to fix and wait to see if it is approved. I feel that this is a terrible business practice.

I have condensation in both headlights and they are very dim all the time. Now, Cadillac wants to replace them but, I have to pay upfront first. What kind of a resolution is this? The assemblies are $1,500.00 plus the price of the diagnosis (this is necessary according to the letter). Then we need to wait until August when Cadillac will begin to go over the bills. Why do I have to pay upfront to allow a certified Cadillac service technician to tell them that there is condensation in the lights and it is difficult to see the road at night? This is a long time coming for Cadillac owners and it should be like any other recall. Just fix the problem because it is dangerous to drive with this problem at night. I am perfectly ready to have Cadillac fix the issue without paying upfront as I have not had the assemblies replaced by any other mechanic.

So far I have been very happy with my SRX but, I will need to rethink my next new car purchase.

I have been given a quote of $500 plus dollars to replace the headlight assembly. It cost so much because the front bumper has to be removed in order to get to the headlight!! So I figure I will drill the hole in the light to let out the water (still full of moisture) and just wait until the headlight burns out, either way I would have to pay for the front bumper to be removed and I am not trying to pay to do it twice!!

I live in Maryland owner of a 2010 Cadillac SRX and my headlights have been fogged up with condensation since I purchased this car in 2014 used. I have not received any type of letter pertaining to the headlight issue. Several years back I did write a letter to GM complaining about the problem but it fell upon deaf ears!

Any suggestions from anyone out there? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. I have been extremely disappointed and frustrated with this whole situation. Why are the lawsuits only being handled state by state as opposed to a nationwide problem with these headlights. We need protection from the giant car manufacturers because they are shitting all over us all the time when it comes to fixing a very dangerous situation with this headlight problem. You literally can't see the road in front of you!! GM take responsibility for your major defective product!

Warning light for low beam headlight driver's side came on when I started my car. Upon checking the headlight I saw the headlight was out and there was water accumulated on the lens cover. Car is stored in garage; however it was out in the rain for about 8 hours one day a week ago. Mileage - 80,000

I had the same problem with the headlight on the right in January 2015 - mileage 49,800.

Update from Mar 12, 2019: Spoke to customer service representative at Cadillac who informed me since my vehicle is out of warranty I will have to cover the cost to replace the headlight. Dealership gave me a quote of $1640 plus tax to replace driver's side headlight. While my husband was in the dealership talking with a rep he overheard another customer complaining about the same problem. Cadillac really needs to step up to the plate and issue a recall. I will never buy another Cadillac let alone another GM car. I am not surprised that another GM plant closed in Michigan last week. The quality in their products are below standard!

I've only had this car for 6 months, why is there condensation inside the lens. I refuse to have to continue to pay to have a light replaced for this issue. I can't replace the bulb myself seeing the whole damn bumper has to be taken off. This is not ok so this needs to be fixed asap. People don't have $$$ laying around every time a bulb burns out because of the water/condensation inside to take it to someone that is gonna charge you 2 or 3 hundred dollars a pop.

I can't drive my car at night because the headlight lens are so fogged up it does not let the light come through to see what is in front of me. I've been pulled over twice and the cops told me they thought I was driving at night with just my driving lights on and warned me to get it fixed. The dealer told me it's common with this car and said it will cost me $2300.00 to get it fixed. I guess it's time for a new car.

When you pay as much as you do for a Cadillac and you have significant issues with the headlights leaking....that is a problem! Who has over $3000.00 just laying around to fix this issue, which none of us Cadillac owners should have ever had to be faced with! I can't drive my car when it is raining or when it is dark out. I will never own another Cadillac, ever! I am waiting for a recall for this issue.
