Inner/outer seals in moonroof had to be replaced due to the tubing being to short when made on the factory line. This is a pre-own vehicle that had only 60,000 miles. I was driving 70mpd on 94-E, it had thunder stormed the entire weekend, and was raining terribly when this all took place. The vehicle decreased in speed down to 17-20 and wouldn't go any faster. I exit the freeway, pulled into gas station to read my manual. Stability track was my message. I cranked fine, and drove ok but not more than 20mph. The morning after, apparently the break system had dried, the vehicle drove perfect at the speed it should. I still took it to shop because my concern was that this didn't happen again. When it rain, the vehicle would leak into the passenger side of the vehicle under the glove box and it was a nice puddle. I thought I left the window cracked. The shop mechanic found water spots in the moon roof area and the break area and underneath the floor carpet on the side where the water had leaked. The previous owner had purchased the weather tech matts, and that made me wonder when I purchased the car; why would a person purchase such expensive matts when it's a lease and will be getting returned. The mechanic informed me that if the leak wasn't fixed this would happen again, eventually effect the electrical system which will give incorrect readings of each functional ability. My vehicle was in the shop for 1 month. The moon roof was the only leak and the part took a week to come in. This was a very difficult task stated by the mechanic because if the moon roof isn't installed properly it could blow off when in high speed or will leak air. I've read many doing this process and many I've read just dealt with the tubing to stop the leak, not actually fixing the problem with the sunroof seals. I didn't take any photos, but I do have the $1,236.

(1) driver side headlamp failure. Dealership indicates ballast failure, and the entire assembly has to be replaced. The cost of this is a minimum of $1,200. (2) as of April 27, 2016 - car won't start (10 days): Indication is "no remote detected" (remote battery was replaced); vehicle's battery was replaced December 2015.

The rear lift gate electronic control module is a manufactures defect. The sunroof drain apparently is a manufacturers defect and does not function properly. It does not drain and as a result allows water to short out and destroy the electronic control module. The first time this occurred was while the vehicle was under warranty. There was a recall on the drain that should have fixed the problem but it did not. The rear lift gate became inoperable again this time becoming completely inoperable. The Cadillac dealer david taylor blamed the sunroof drain once again would not warranty their past work nor their future attempts to solve the problem saying only that at any time the drain could become clogged again causing the control module to short out and if it was past one year or twelve thousand miles that I would just have to pay another grand to have it fixed again. So basically a recall item a manufacturers defect that is aresponsibility of Cadillac is now a reoccurring problem that is solely the responsibility of the customer to spend a thousand dollars every couple of years for a non weather able item. This is not a motor or transmission or a set of tires this is a design defect that is the responsibility of the manufacturer and therefore the dealer. The rear lift gate is dangerous when operable due to opening and closing improperly erratically and unexpectantly possibly getting an adult child or animals limbs or extremities caught in the lift gate. Also when the lift gate becomes copletely inoperable one might have a limb or extremity caught and not have any means of opening the lift gate manually for when it stops working there is no way to release it. Cadillac is obviously aware of the defective design and manufacture of this unit and are risking consumers safety but just refuse to do anything to resolve the problem. 780000 GM lift gates recalled why not Cadillac

There was a recall on the low beam headlight plug assembly on the 2010 Srx. The faulty plug would cause the lowbeam headlights to not function. The plug would allow for the high beams to work properly but the plug would not allow the halogen lowbeam said to work. David taylor supposedly fixed this problem however a few years later the lowbeam headlights became completely inoperable causing the driver to have zero visibility while using the headlights. The highbeams would work perfectly. I argued with the dealer that it had something to do with the plug however they insisted that the problem was that the light assembly because of faulty manufacturing allowed water to enter the low beam lens and in turn cloud the lens. I insisted otherwise because there was visible condensation in the headlight assembly but none in the low beams. Unfortunately this situation had me over a barrel because the driver had already been risking their life and other drivers lives on the road while being forced to drive with only high beams or without any illumination of the road way at all. I had no choice but to spend 1500 dollars on headlights. Now regardless of the reason whether it was a faulty manufactured plug or a faulty sealed manufactured headlamp assembly the problems it poses are the same. Cadillac has a poorly manufactured headlight assembly and plug assembly that are endangering people's lives. When these low beams become inoperable the driver has zero visibility and are forced to choose between driving with their highbeams on and blinding other drivers or driving without any headlights which could cause death or bodily harm to the driver or any property or persons that the driver cannot see. Cadillac knows they have a problem but are willing to risk people's lives in order to save a few dollars. They have a faulty product that the NHTSA should resolve before there is loss of life

I had problems with this car every since the moon roof drain which is a recall now car was flooded brought it to dealer got it back it was even worse the changed the drain again sine then it has been in the dealer at least 20 times radio goes up and down rear lights stay on battery dead in the morning every light you can imagine one time or another from air bags to no key fab was serviced they flash the pc 3 times tried to contact Cadillac early response team ran me around for 2 years had my attorney call then they would not give him address for legal dept and hung up on him. On 8/22 /2015 I opened the rear hatch as I always do with the fab I went to get something out the rear hatch came down pushed me to the ground hitting me in my neck which I had surgery 18 years ago the rear hitch continued to go up and down.it goes up stays for few seconds the comes down fast half way and goes up and down.Cadillac send a investigator to my home and he could not get the hatch to stay up I have bought since 1975 over 25 Cadillac and dulley pickups over the years you would think they would have treated me better needless to say since this started I have bought 4 Mercedes Benz and have to say what a difference.
